When I try to get to the new 18.08-1 version I am getting abruptly stopped with the message ‘xcursor-breeze’ required by namib-mate-settings.

I tried few things to get around but did not find the solution.

Do you have any idea on how to fix this issue ?

Thank you.

I had to install the package xcursor-breeze from the AUR. After that I still get a whole slew of error messages:

error: failed to commit transaction (conflicting files)

Errors occurred, no packages were upgraded.

Don’t want to sound snide, but it seems this update could have needed some further testing

#4

Hi,
A tutorial is coming, how to upgrade the system. The packages had some changes and it’s totally normal to have conflict. It’s not a lack of testing. I’ll edit this post when the tutorial is going to be made.

Tutorial here: How to upgrade from Namib 18.02 and before to the Namib 18.08

Thank you!

#5

Hi, thanks for the heads-up! Followed your tutorial and everything went well
Sorry about the criticism :zipper_mouth_face:

#6

Hi, I have followed your tutorial step by step and everything went well until I upgrade my system with the --force options and then restart my computer. After restarting I lost the ability to login as usual I don’t have access to my data and so far. Namib 18.08 is connecting me to a “liveuser” which I do not know the pswd so I am in a black hole at this time in point.
Your suggestions will be more than appreciated to turn around the issue.
Thanks
